Administrative Receptionist


Columbia Medical Associates is a multi-location provider of healthcare services with clinics throughout the Spokane region.  We are currently searching for an Administrative Receptionist for our Centralized Services department.  This is a full-time position working approximately 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

You must have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task with interruptions throughout the day. Minimum 1-2 years job-related experience.  You will interact with a variety of people, and must be able to work equally well with patients, providers and co-workers.  Excellent customer service skills are a must!

Your typical daily duties will include meeting and greeting guests to our offices, answering incoming telephone calls, collecting co-payments and patient balances, verifying insurance, scanning and filing documents, and scheduling appointments for multiple locations.

Proficiency in a knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel and Microsoft Word software; excellent phone etiquette; excellent verbal communication skills; punctual; and able to work with minimum supervision.

Principal duties and Responsibilities


  • Greet guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner.
  • Check patients in and out, collect co-pays and balances
  • Schedule appointments for multiple locations
  • Receives, sorts, and forwards incoming mail
  • Verifying Insurance Information
  • Professionally answers telephone calls and directs callers as appropriate.
  • Provides callers with various information such as location and addresses, fax numbers, new patient information and other related information as appropriate.
  • Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel.
  • Responsible for batch scanning and filing documents as needed.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties.
  • Will act as back-up for Operators when needed.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
